Build logs and field-tested work

A transparent snapshot of what’s being built, tested, or improved. This page is intentionally practical: what it is, what changed, and what’s next.

What lives here

Projects are the proof that TravelFreak.dev is grounded in real work. Some are homelab builds, some are field-driven, and some are experiments that eventually become repeatable hosting offerings.

Current focus areas

  • Game hosting readiness: stability, backups, and predictable performance under player load.
  • Platform hardening: monitoring, access controls, and safe update workflows.
  • Automation: repeatable provisioning, backups, and basic self-service where it makes sense.
  • Documentation: short notes that are usable, not vague writeups.

Example project formats

Game Server Builds

Provisioning patterns, modpack/updates workflow, backups, and performance tuning.

Network Hygiene

Segmentation, firewalling, and practical troubleshooting notes that prevent avoidable incidents.

Backup & Recovery

Backups that actually restore: schedules, retention, and recovery drills.

Container Services

Small footprints for tools and services that belong in containers.

As projects graduate from “experiment” to “repeatable,” they get documented more deeply in Tech Notes and, when appropriate, become options on the Hosting page.
